The Ministry of Commerce put sugar on the list of 'Goods subject to export', which was published on the Official Gazette on 30 December 2021. Thus, after exporting sugar, customs declaration forms must be submitted to the Exporters' Union.
With the lack of raw material and currency crisis, sugar could not be found on the market shelves for a while. As a result, the quota for some products was allocated, including sugar and oil. It became an inssue when TurkSeker, Turkish Sugar Refineries Corporation, cut its sugar supply.
