Turkish suppliers are running out of Red Rio variety of grapefruit stocks as the season is slowly winding down. The suppliers had to deal with quite large-sized fruits this season due to the weather conditions with 16 - 22 pieces in 15 kg carton boxes being the most usual sizes.
Consequently, Turkish exports mostly went to Russia and Ukraine instead of the Western European countries where smaller-sized grapefruits are mostly prefered.
