Turkiye Targets USD 1B in Organic Products Export

The products of 49K farmers who produce 1.6MMT of organic products are approaching an annual export of USD 500M in Turkiye. The Turkish organic sector, which aims to double this figure, has set its sights on European Union countries. Farmers cultivate 352K hectares of land and produce 1.6MMT of organic products from 267 different types. The percentage of land allocated to organic production in Turkiye stands at 1.7%, which is higher than the world average. Turkiye ranked twelfth in the number of organic producers. The Aegean region is leading in organic production and exports in Turkiye, accounting for 75% of the country's organic product exports. Turkiye ranks seventh along the European Union countries that import the most organic products, with an annual import of nearly 3MMT.
