US hog and pig inventory down 1%

The USDA's Hogs & Pigs report, which is released its final quarterly report for the year, shows December 1st inventory at 77.5 million heads. This is 1% below the inventory at this point last year and 1% below the last report on September 1st. Breeding inventory was also down 3% compared to last year at 6.28 million head
