The majority of the US onions are often exported regionally, to Canada and Mexico, but are also shipped to other countries in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. However, current logistics issues and port delays are making shipping difficult. White and yellow onions, in particular, are affected more by shipping delays as their higher sugar content makes them spoil faster than red onions.
