Turkey has increased its production output in certain strategically important grains, pulses, and legumes in 2020. Wheat production output has exceeded in 2020 by almost 8% compared to 2019 and reached 20.5 million tons. Common bean production reached 280 K MT, as for chickpea production output Turkey has reached 630 K MT which made the country net exporter of the product. Red lentil production output has also increased significantly by 24% compared to 2019 and reached 328 K MT while the green lentil production output has slightly decreased by 3% and dropped to 42 K MT.
