In the Rome market, Italy, there has been a noticeable uptick in the price of Pink Shrimp (Parapenaeus longirostris), sourced from the Tyrrhenian Sea. W18 witnessed prices for size 30/60 ranging from USD 9.78 to 13.04 per kilogram (kg), compared to W19, where prices surged from USD 12.50 to 14.13/kg, marking an increase of 8.3% week-on-week (WoW). Similarly, W19 prices for size 60/100 rose from a range of USD 5.98 to 8.70/kg to a range of USD 7.07 to 9.78/kg, reflecting a notable increase of 12.5% WoW. This price escalation is attributed to the limited volume of the species caught, tightening supply and subsequently driving prices upwards.
