Zambezia province in Mozambique initiates cage culture production of prawns

More than USD5 million have been invested in launching aquaculture prawn production in Inhassungue, in Zambezia province. New techniques and strategies accompany this return of aquaculture production in Zambezia province to increase production and productivity, restructuring infrastructure, and increasing access to technology to local communities and institutions. The company promoting the project, Aquapesca, stated that the production had been stopped for the past 5 years due to disease. Upon an agreement made between Aquapesca and the University of Lucongo, the president of Aquapesca confirms the production quantity of 200 tons.
