Turkey: Yedisu rooster beans produced with centuries-old ancestral seeds increase the yield

The yield of Yedi Su rooster beans, produced in the Yedi Su district of Bingöl and registered last year, is increasing every year. The production area increased from 200 decares to 600 decares in a year, after the rooster variety dry beans, which were sown from ancestral seeds in June and grown with natural water from Peri Su Stream, were registered with the geographical indication in March last year as a result of the work of the District Governor's Office and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Harvest started after 4 months of hard work in dry beans, which started to be produced in June from the centennial seed, and attracted great interest with its cooking in approximately 20 minutes, no crusting and its flavor.
