By Editorial PortalPortuario.cl, @PortalPortuario, The Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) published a new edition of its Potato Bulletin, covering the period between January and March 2022, where it was noted that Chile imported a total of USD 37.05 million of this tuber , which translates into an increase of 19.1% compared to the same period in 2021., Frozen prepared potatoes were the main product purchased for the Chilean market, showing a growth of 21.5% in the analyzed time frame. In its breakdown, the total volume (kilos) of frozen prepared potatoes sent to Chile was equivalent to 36,353,879, for a CIF USD value of 31,518,918. Merchandise that was mainly brought from Belgium (23,948,480 kilos), the Netherlands (5,605,032 kilos) and Argentina (4,512,766 kilos), for CIF USD 19,163,990, 5,371,021 and 4,917,431, respectively.
