The finding was made this Saturday by the participants of the debate on the theme "Challenges and Opportunities in the Marketing and Processing of Cashew Nuts: The Case of Nampula", promoted by the Bank of Mozambique, in the city of Nampula, as part of its 46th Consulting board. Data released at the time indicate that the situation is worrisome, such that of the 17 processing factories in the country, only nine are currently in operation, and their reopening is not expected soon due to lack of raw material. As an example, the average global production of the last five years in the country stood, on average, at around 140 thousand tons.
