And that Ukraine, despite the difficulties caused by the war with Russia, will manage to maintain its market share of around 4.50 million tons. This implies that in the next campaign 70% of the world trade in sunflower oil would be in the hands of both nations versus 67% in 2022/23 and 68% in 2021/22. The USDA estimates that neither the European Union nor Argentina nor Turkey – the minority suppliers of sunflower oil in the world order – will not be in a position to increase the production of the oil and, therefore, neither the exportable supply. The main loser in this scenario is Argentina, since both Europe and Turkey, although they export sunflower oil, also import in large quantities to supply their internal needs.
