Hungary, like other countries in Europe, was hit by freezing winter weather in the first half of April. Growers report frost damage to many fruit crops. The apricot and peach orchards have now been hit hard by frost, as have other stone fruit orchards as well as almond plantations. Worse still, the devastating effects of the ongoing pandemic and drought are now causing problems for the sector as well.
