The demonstrations in Peru, which have been taking place since the end of last year, have had adverse consequences for the agricultural sector, mainly due to roadblocks. Taking into account the main agricultural products, such as blueberries, grapes and avocados; FreshFruit estimated that in week 4 of this year, 17,740 tons were exported, which meant a 48% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. Likewise, the shipments that were most affected were those that were made through the port Callao and Pisco. Through the main national port, only 8,517 tons were exported, which was 70% less than last year (28,531 tons). Regarding the southern port of Pisco, it dispatched loads for a total of 432 tons; that is, a reduction of 55%, according to what was registered in the same week of 2022.
