The Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (Odepa) of Chile has released its new Potato Bulletin, highlighting a significant increase in potato exports from January to September 2022. The exports saw a 51.8% increase in value and a 105.6% increase in volume compared to the same period in 2021, totaling USD 2.07 million FOB and 1,980 tons. The increase is primarily due to higher yields from seed potatoes. The seed potato category alone accounted for 62% of the total export value. The main destinations for these exports were Brazil and Guatemala. Other potato products like puree, fresh ware potatoes, potatoes prepared without freezing, and potato flour also saw substantial increases in exports during this period.
