The average production yield of the apricots is almost 100 metric tons per year. The main harvest season for the product is between the months of July and October. They are grown in Gilgit-Baltistan region which has a naturally ideal natural environment for growing best types of apricot. The mountainous areas of Gilgit Baltistan as a naturally suitable climate and soil type don't require any additional fertilizers or chemicals to help to grow. The mountainous region also has unique importance both strategically and geographically. It allows a corridor for trade between China and other countries through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Freshly harvested and cleaned apricots are dried to make sure the water content is evaporated but the nutritional value remains intact.
