Uganda's Minister for Information, Communication Technology, and National Guidance, Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, has encouraged tea farmers to remain resilient during a decline in green tea leaf prices, assuring them that the government is working to stabilize the industry. He highlighted challenges such as the Russia-Ukraine war, market instability, and local quality issues. The government's strategies to aid the industry include supporting tea manufacturers, transitioning factories into economic free zones, seeking alternative markets, providing farmers with fertilisers, and establishing a tea marketing auction. Baryomunsi's remarks were made during the Bishops' Annual Appeal Fund and the End-of-Year Mass for the Kigezi Kampala Catholic Residents Association (KCCRA).
