In W26 in the tuna landscape, the Marine Management Council (MSC) held the ‘2nd Roundtable for Sustainable Deep-Sea Tuna Fishing' at the Korea Deep-sea Industry Association. The event discussed international trends, domestic ocean shipping issues, and stakeholder collaboration. The MSC reports that over 57% of the world's tuna fisheries participate in the MSC program, with 117 fishing boats from Korea.

In Indonesia, the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry has released a tuna harvest strategy document, which will help the implementation of Government Regulation No. 11 of 2023 on quota-based measurable fishing, including tuna fishery. The strategy is crucial for developing, testing, and implementing yellowfin, skipjack, and bigeye tuna harvest strategies in Indonesian waters.

The Maldives exported 35 thousand mt of fish in the first four months of 2022, with skipjack tuna being the top export product. The country exported 30.9 thousand mt, with yellowfin tuna and canned fish also being exported. Skipjack's international market price reached USD 2/kg (MVR 30.8/kg) at the end of Apr-23.
