In W27 in the oats landscape, the Czech Republic expects a 0.6 million metric tons (mmt) decrease in grain production for the 2023/24 marketing year, with an estimated harvest of 7 mmt. Oats production is also projected to drop by 20.9 thousand mt to 167.9 thousand mt. In Brazil, the cultivation of white oats and barley in the state of Rio Grande do Sul is in its final stage of implementation. The region of Emater/RS in Ijuí, with a cultivation area of 365,081 hectares (ha), is experiencing excellent development in white oat crops, rapidly progressing to the stem elongation stage. Despite experiencing higher temperatures during the growing season, there has been a decrease in the number of tillers per plant in the crop, but this does not compromise the productive potential of the crop. The first flowering plants show panicles with a high number of flowers, and there have been few instances of pests and diseases. Lastly, Ukraine witnessed an increase in grain exports during the 2022/23 marketing year. From July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, Ukraine exported 48.99 mmt of grain and leguminous crops. Turkey emerged as a significant buyer, increasing its share in the Ukrainian oats export from 0% to 4%, wheat from 10% to 20%, and barley from 19% to 23%.
