In W40 in the melon landscape, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported significant harvest progress of various crops, such as melons and potatoes. In Senegal, where farming activities concentrate in the three-month rainy season, the primary agricultural focus on peanut production was negatively affected by poor yields in 2022. As a result, rural communities in the central region of Kaolack have turned to watermelon production as an alternative source of income to mitigate the effects of agricultural challenges.

Lastly, the Brazilian melon export season has begun with remarkable success, showing a 35% increase in volume compared to the same period in the previous campaign. Producers have benefited from the high quality and productivity of the melons, with increased volumes. The scarcity of European production has contributed to this growth.

Brazilian producers expect at least a 25% Year-on-Year (YoY) production increase, assuming current productivity levels are maintained. The positive reception of their products has created good demand, particularly in the United States (US) market, where volumes have doubled compared to the previous season. In addition to the productive harvest, the use of chartered vessels for shipping merchandise from Brazil to Europe has been highly successful. The vessels, which operate weekly, have significantly reduced logistics costs. The shift to loading from the Port of Natal in Brazil has streamlined operations and contributed to the company's optimistic outlook for the season.
