Puang Manee:

The Monthong price increased a little bit. For Kradoom, its price increased by about 11.75%. For Puang Manee, its price increased by about 35%. For Cha nee, its price decreased by about 13.5%.

High Price of Vietnamese Durian Due to Increased Demand from China (Feb 7)

The price of durian has reached an all-time high in Vietnam due to the strong buying power of the Chinese market. In early February 2023, the selling price of durian in Tien Giang increased, making growers extremely happy. For instance, the selling price of durian in the Cai Lay district of Tien Giang province has reached USD 6.35-8.05/kg (VND 150k-190k/kg), more than three times the price at the same time in 2022. The gardener earned millions of dong by selling a durian at this price.

Durian Brought in Nearly Half a Billion Dollars in Vietnam (Feb 8)

According to the General Department of Customs, in 2022, durian exports approached USD 421M, an increase of 136.8% compared to 2021. Durian exports increased thanks to the export agreement to China. Durians became the second largest Vietnamese fruit export, after dragon fruit. Of the total fruit export turnover of USD 2.1B in 2022, durian accounted for 20%, a sharp increase from 7.6% in 2021.

Vietnamese Durian and Other Agricultural Products Have High Prices (Feb 10)

In Vietnam, durian prices increased to a record in the past month, dragon fruit, jackfruit, and sweet potatoes were also 2-3 times more expensive than in the same period. Since January 8, 2023, China opened its doors after three years of the pandemic, making the passage through Vietnam's border gates bustling. Procurement and processing activities at factories were vibrant again, creating momentum for many agricultural products in the first months of the year to increase prices by 2-3 times over the same period.
