Strawberry consumption wanes in Spain

Strawberry imported into Spain were waning around 18% in 2020 compared to the previous year's data. A decay was also seen in the value of strawberry imported to Spain, and the domestic strawberry production in Spanish market was also reduced by more than 10% in the last 3 years. The majority of strawberry exports from Spain came from Morocco and Portugal, while Morocco took more above 80% of the market share. Before the year 2020, Morocco solely targeted Spain as a foremost destination, until finally showing buoyant export expansion to the UK and Germany in 2020.
