Increasing Prices of Brazilian Melons Due to Decreased Supply and Increased Production and Freight Costs

The price of fresh Brazilian melons has increased by 46% YoY. In February 2022, the price of Brazilian fresh melons stood at USD 0.73/kg, compared to the same month in the previous year when the price was USD 0.50/kg. Some reasons that lead to the price fluctuations of Brazilian melons include a global shortage in supply, increased demand, increased production, and rising freight costs.
