Low Price of Chinese Seabass in February 2022

The wholesale price of frozen seabass in China decreased by -26% month-on-month. The price in W2 February 2022 stood at USD 5.72 per kg, which was USD 7.72 per kg in W2 January 2022. High price in late 2021 was caused by the low supply at the same time high demand for seabass. This forced China to reduce export by 16.2% YoY from January to October 2021. Reduced price in February 2022 indicated that the sufficient domestic supply and China could increase export in the global market.
