Hazelnut wholesale price in Italy fell -7.05% YoY to 5.76 USD/KG in W3 December 2021. At the same time, hazelnut wholesale price decreased in Georgia by -26.71% to 1.79 USD/KG. The decline in Italian hazelnut production due to weather and parasite attacks required Italy to increase its imports this year. Meanwhile, the increasing export volume of Georgia hazelnuts along with lower prices attracted importers to buy more hazelnuts from Georgia. Italy could be a lucrative destination for Georgian hazelnuts.
