The wholesale price of peanuts in Indonesia increased by +16.29% to 1.81 USD/KG in W4 December 2021. Peanut prices continued to soar because the demand for peanuts increased while domestic production was insufficient. This requires Indonesia to import peanuts from abroad. The value of peanut imports to Indonesia fell to 300M USD due to restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. However, for the 2021/22 period, it seems that imports will increase along with the increasing Indonesian domestic demand for peanuts which will also continue to increase the price.
