REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman threatened to revoke the licenses of importers and producers who sell food above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) ahead of Chinese New Year, Nyepi, Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. He made this statement while leading the National Simultaneous Cheap Food Movement at the Ministry of Agriculture's headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (13/2/2026). Amran asked all business actors to comply with the MRP because the national food stock is abundant. The government recorded the rice stock in February to be 3.4 million tons, the highest in history. The strategic food stock reserves are available at 1.5 million tons with a maximum price of Rp12,500 per kilogram. The cooking oil stock reached 700 thousand tons with an MRP of Rp15,700 per liter.
