Continuous Heavy Rains Push Plum Prices Up in South Africa

The price of lime soared in the fourth week of November 2021 and reached USD 0.44 per kg. The prolonged rainy season when South Africa is supposed to have dry heat for plum harvests has sent prices up in the market. South African growers are also under pressure due to the high cost of producing these fresh plums. However, prices slowly return to normal to USD 0.27 per kg in early 2022.
