The farmgate price of fresh Navel-Lane Late orange in Spain (Valencia) plummeted 59.46% YoY in W1 of August 22. The high yield of Navel Late Lane orange in Spain and significant quantities of oranges from South Africa were the major factors causing lower prices during 2022. However, the cold treatment regulation, which came to effect on July 14, 2022, marks a gamechanger in South African exports to Spain. Expectations are that orange prices may rise in the new future.
