In India, the wholesale price of rice has surged by 20% MoM to USD 0.42/kg in W2 Sep-22. The price remains high due to the decline in production in the main rice-producing states in India. Adverse weather led Indian rice plantations to reduce by 6% YoY to 38.4 million ha in the current season
