Fewer Exports Due To High Demand of Seabass in China

Frozen whole seabass in China soared by +8.07 YoY. The price in W2 Dec stood at 4.08 USD per KG, compared to the same period of a year earlier was 3.78 USD per KG. The high domestic demand for seabass made the price escalates in 2021. As a result, China as the major exporter of seabass in 2020 had a sharp decline in supplying to importers. The government along with the private sector focus on supplying seabass farmers to meet domestic demand.
