Argentine Sweet Cherries Prices Double by 2022 Due to Strong Demand from China

Published Jan 13, 2022
Argentinean sweet cherries increased by +106.24% YoY and were valued at USD 7.78 per kg in the first week of January 2022. Due to extreme weather where frost hit production areas in Argentina, the country experienced a supply shortage which led to price increases. Since there is a huge demand for Argentinian sweet cherries in China along with high air freight fares, it is no wonder the price has skyrocketed at the beginning of 2022.
