The price of Turkish tomatoes has soared by 66.37% YoY in the second week of February-22 driven mainly by a 20-year historic Turkish inflation that has closed in January at 48%. The wholesale price of fresh tomato has soared to USD .81/kg for the Vine variety and to USD 1/kf for the Befstead and Round Varieties. Despite exports limitations imposed by the Turkish government in an effort to curb domestic prices, tomato prices have seen a considerable increase in value YoY.
