Cherry imports to China in 2012 versus 2019 represent a very different landscape in terms of export value. However, the market is still the same and is dominated by imports from Chile and Hong Kong. Australia and Argentina entered the market as the new face in 2019 and also supports the supply of cherries to China in the winter season. Meanwhile, New Zealand, which has also exported cherries since 2012, has significantly increased its supply in 2020. China mostly supplies cherries from December to February, as the rest of the month is out of season.
