Tridge's benchmark Argy wholesale Sunflower seeds from the Bahia Blanca record a 46% decline over the week. Prices steadied over April and May on the news that sunflower planting could rise 17% YoY to 2 million hectares the highest in about 14 years according to data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange data.
Data from the International Grains Council revising the 2021-22 Argy crop at 4 million mt on improved yields has added further downside to domestic sunflower prices. Globally, bearish sentiments in Ukrainian, European, and US sunflower markets are also added extra pressure.
