Origin: Old variety of French origin and characteristic of high altitude zones. Main Varieties: Canadian brown Reineta, Grand Faye brown Reineta, Canadian white Reineta. Colour: Skin with greenish and brownish tones Shape: Large fruit, often asymmetric and oblong Dominant Calibre: 80/90 Consistency: 6 to 9 kg/cm² Soluble Solids Content: 12 to 14% Acidity: 8 to 10 g/l Texture: Pulp with granular texture and often floury. Flavor: Aromatic fruit with a bittersweet flavour. Shelf Life: The fruit has an average conservation capacity, which has little to average sensitivity to handling.
