Despite a delayed season due to weather conditions, the demand for Hungarian watermelons is on the rise in export markets, with a potential for growth domestically. However, to capitalize on these opportunities, increased producer cooperation is required. Challenges such as plant diseases and limited licensed plant protection products persist. The National Chamber of Agrarian Economy is planning negotiations with domestic food chains for the arrival of the first Hungarian watermelon shipments before the next season.
