Turmeric is a plant that thrives in low-lying areas and with abundant open-source sunlight. Therefore it is suitable to be planted in Malaysia due to the tropical climate. However, widely grown turmeric is rarely found because most farmers grow a small number of crops to target only fresh markets. Turmeric is also imported from India in small quantities just to guarantee that domestic supply is adequate.
