Public ports in Rio Grande do Sul handled 42,373,432 tons between January and November 2025, registering the highest volume since 2021. The total represents a growth of 3.01% compared to the same period in 2024 and an advance of 2.30% compared to 2023. According to the state government, the result reinforces the importance of the state's port infrastructure to support the agricultural and industrial chains and the outflow of commodities to the external market. Porto do Rio Grande accounted for 40,884,088 tons of the total handled, concentrating more than 96% of the operations carried out in the state's public ports. In the annual comparison, the terminal registered a growth of 3.67%. The composition of the cargo was led by solid bulk, responsible for 59.82% of the operations, followed by general cargo, with 32.5%, and liquid bulk, which accounted for 7.6%.
