During 2020, 14.2M animals were slaughtered, of which 56% were males. This % is very important since it is an indicator of a strong industry because breeding capabilities are being maintained (a good supply was offered without putting the new calf "factory" at risk). Last year's distribution was 52% males and 48% females.
2020's male-female distribution will serve to maintain the reaction capacity of the industry in the new 2021 cycle, and beyond what may happen with the drought.
The total number of slaughtered animals implies a considerable rise compared to the 13.82M heads processed by the industry in 2019 (a raise of almost 400K heads, just over 3%).
