According to the National Customs Directorate of Chile, between August 2022 and July 2023, Chile exported 138.31 thousand tons of frozen (dressed) coho salmon, marking a 1% increase compared to the same period in 2022. However, exports to Japan declined by 13% to 89.07 thousand tons, accounting for 64% of the total, down 11% points from the previous year, representing a continuing trend of decreasing exports to Japan, which have declined from 80 to 90% between 2014/15 and 2020/21 to 64% in the current period.
