Since 2017, China slowly increased its demand for Turkish dried figs, reaching over USD 6 million in 2021. However, in the 2022 season, prices have increased. During the first quarter of the season (November 2021-January 2021), China only imported USD 1.8 million worth of dried figs, which is 46% less compared to the same period last year. The first quarter import of China is usually the busiest quarter since it includes products for the Chinese new year. Therefore, suppliers do not expect any upwards trend in 2022.
