In Argentina, drought threatened livestock production hence a lower beef supply is forecasted for 2023. In W51, more animals are destined for slaughter. However, the drought has not created favorable conditions to increase births and compensation.
In 2022, the slaughter level closed with 12.26M animals slaughtered until November and around 13.5M for December. The 2022 annual slaughter is expected to exceed 25% of the 53.4M cattle registered at the beginning of the cycle, that is, as of December 31, 2021.
