The supply of cassava in Thailand has been disrupted by the El Niño phenomenon, characterized by excessive heat and insufficient rainfall. This has led to poor germination of planted cassava and a consequent reduction in market supply during W33. Cassava farmers are grappling with water scarcity as they rely primarily on rainfall. Planted seedlings show signs of damage, failure to germinate, and decay, resulting in significant losses for farmers. Despite the high market price for cassava, farmers are struggling to meet the demand due to these adverse conditions.
