Containers storage in major shipping lines caused a decrease in Turkey's fish meal and oil export. Almost decreased by 65% in quantity and 58% in value, compared to the previous year, due to the shortage of containers faced by exporters as a global problem. The most important reason for the decrease in exports was the inability to send products due to the container problem last year to countries such as Vietnam, Denmark, and France, which make high purchases. Peru, Norway, Israel, Colombia, and Taiwan were the top exporters in 2021. Turkey also sells fish meal and oil to Thailand, Iceland, and Belarus.
