The United Nations World Food Programme has pointed out that Lebanon is facing a food security crisis due to the offensive by Israel against the Hezbollah armed group, which has disrupted the supply of goods and driven up prices. Allison Oman Lawi, the Country Director of the United Nations World Food Programme office in Lebanon, told reporters via video link in Beirut on Friday (April 10), "What we are witnessing is not just a displacement crisis, it is rapidly evolving into a food security crisis." She warned that food is becoming increasingly unaffordable due to rising prices and the needs of displaced families.
