Fishermen of Primorye do not plan to reduce the volume of fish production in the face of falling

More than 230K/mt of aquatic biological resources were caught by the enterprises of the Primorsky Territory. Sales of fish products increased by 1.5 times. According to the regional fisheries agency, in January-February, the industrial production index for the type of activity "Processing and canning of fish products" compared to the level of last year amounted to 115.6%.

“According to Primorskstat, as of 1 April, 2022, 124.3K/mt of fish and fish products were released. Nearly 24M cans and preserves have been produced. Shipped goods of own production for USD 0.20B, which is 1.5 times more than the same period in 2021,” the department added.

It was noted that as of 15 March, coastal enterprises increased the catch of aquatic biological resources to 230,000/mt. There are no plans to reduce the volume of fish and seafood production. “Despite the current economic situation, the enterprises of the fishing industry of Primorsky Krai are operating as usual and continue to catch, deliver, process and sell aquatic biological resources. Today, retail chains offer a wide range of fish products at various prices,” said Sergey Nastavshev, deputy head of the agency.
It should be reminded that coastal fishermen make the main contribution to the national project "International Cooperation and Export". In 2021, they caught more than 800K/mt of pollock, herring, other fish and seafood. This year, the volume of exports from Primorsky Krai should amount to almost USD 1.8B.
