Elevated Dried Mango Prices in Kenya Due to Low Out of Season Stock

Kenyan dried mango is trading at USD 8-10/kg at the end of W34 while the normal trading range is USD 6.5-7/kg during the production season. The elevated price is because most of the available stock in the market is from the previous season and mango is out of season in most parts of the country. The leading mango producing regions in Kenya such as Makueni, Kitui, Machakos and parts of central Kenya counties will start harvesting in December for the 2022/23 season, which will put downward pressure on dried mango prices and likely result in a return to the normal trading range.
