People have started buying dates in the domestic market, making the date supplies also positively increase in line with the upcoming Ramadan. Previously due to lockdown and high covid cases in Malaysia, many suppliers fear it will affect the sale of dates which is usually more than 3 times higher during Ramadhan and eid Mubarak. However, the 3rd wave of the pandemic has begun to get under control, making people buy dates as usual.
