The National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA) announced the technical visit of representatives of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) Chile, in order to verify the phytosanitary measures that were implemented to avoid the discovery of larva such as Selenaspidus articulatus in shipments of mango.

The implementation of these measures will be corroborated in the mango production fields and packing houses, located in the Piura and Ancash regions, by the technical teams of the phytosanitary authorities of Peru and Chile.

Despite the fact that the measure taken by Chile did not affect the commercial dynamics of this product, since it was in the final stage of the campaign, corrective actions were taken immediately with the expectation of finalizing the lifting of these restrictions, and having everything ready for the next campaign.

The accompaniment of SENASA in pest control and eradication actions and in the management of new markets has been fundamental so that more than 6000 producers have higher production expectations, which during the last campaign registered the export of 236,863 MT.
